Well I just finished with Tar Baby (Toni Morrison), bringing my total expierence with bot's to two. I received a 6 tape set of The Hobbit about 10 years ago and sometime last year, tape 3 finally gave, much to my dismay...
Soooooooo.... anyone have any recommendations for my next listen?

Re: Any Recommendations?
Thu, April 1, 2004 - 3:10 PMThe most recent one I listened to that I really liked was "Cabinet of Curiosities" by Preston and Child's. It was read well, and the story was great, too. -

Re: Any Recommendations?
Thu, April 1, 2004 - 3:56 PMIf you like the hobbit and can handle a kids book with an adult sense of humor try "A Series Of Unfortunate Events". The guy who reads it is some famous dude. I think it's "Allen Rickman" (sp?) but I'm not positive. It's very sinister and Harry Potteresque without the magic. Just a dirty relative torturing 3 small orphans. Yay for torure, and dirty old men! -

Re: Any Recommendations?
Thu, April 1, 2004 - 8:07 PMMy dear.. I just found them on booksontape.com - even better than "The Rickman" - read by Tim Curry they are...
Yet another must have :)
Thanks love!

Re: Any Recommendations?
Thu, April 1, 2004 - 4:06 PMOn a more serious note... The Kushiel trilogy by Jacqueline Carey. These are f*cking awesome!! A little drama, prostitution, politics, religion, and BDSM. Very well written, intriguing characters, not a bodice ripper, though it warmed me up in a few places.
~not that there's anything wrong with bodice ripping~ ;) -

Re: Any Recommendations?
Tue, April 13, 2004 - 2:17 PMIf you like action, try Joseph Garber's "Vertical Run". The voice acting by Steven Lang is quite entertaining.
